Well, I don’t know why really but I decided to play a bit bit with Office menus today and one of the things I did was trying to perform the update option from the Account menu (File > Account).
Usually I don’t do that and I’m just using Windows Updates update when they released so I figured nothing will actually happen.
To my surprise I noticed that an actual update start downloading so I let it update in the background without suspecting that anything will change.
Later on, after I was asked to close all Office application including Skype for Business, I noticed some changes in the Skype for Business client I was using, which got me thinking that the update I ran, actually did matter and added some cool features.

So far I’ve noticed two cool features that were added to Skype for Business, but I guess it’s a matter of day or two till we see the actual KB coming out and pointing out the list of new features.
- Embedded Conversation Translator – now on every IM windows we can translate the content on the fly without the need to install and 3rd party or adding registry keys, just a small click below the actual content with the option to choose the preferred translation language.
- New Docking Screen – The gigantic floating screen has now been replaced with a brand new one, which allow you to have just the Skype for Business small icon floating instead of the entire box.
